Summary: 10-year-old John invents a clever game that involves dropping coins into a jar. The game is a scam that he tests while working a fruit stand at the Italian farmers market, swindling customers all day. The boss of the fruit stand leaves to take care of suspicious business, leaving John to come face to face with a menacing member of local organized crime. The mysterious man immediately senses a trick, but plays along, with John barely getting away with his antics without facing consequences.

For as long as I can remember,
I have been entertained with his tales
of childhood adventures . I have most of them memorized. This script was inspired by the stories of him growing up in the North End of Boston and working at Haymarket during the summer.
